These Terms & Conditions apply to all group-buy orders placed with Sama Sama through our website, order forms, messaging channels, social media channels, or any other official sales channel.
By placing a deposit, joining a group-buy, purchasing from us, or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About Us
Sama Sama is a Singapore-based business that organises group-buys for selected home appliances and related products.
Our model is designed to help customers access selected products at better prices by consolidating demand into a group-buy batch.
In a typical group-buy, customers place a deposit to register interest and secure their order. Once the minimum order threshold is met, Sama Sama will proceed with procurement, shipping, and collection or delivery arrangements.
2. How the Group-Buy Works
Each group-buy is organised for a specific product or batch of products.
The product page, campaign page, or order form will state the relevant details, which may include:
- Product name and model
- Product specifications
- Product images
- Estimated final price
- Deposit amount
- Minimum order threshold
- Group-buy closing date
- Estimated shipment and arrival timeline
- Self-collection location
- Delivery options, where available
- Replacement terms
- Any applicable referral rewards or store credit
A group-buy will only proceed if the stated minimum order threshold is met by the closing date.
If the minimum order threshold is not met, the group-buy will not proceed and customer deposits will be refunded in accordance with Section 8.
3. Product Information
We aim to provide clear and accurate product information to customers.
Product information may include specifications, dimensions, functions, plug type, voltage compatibility, product images, packaging details, warranty or replacement terms, and other relevant details.
Some product images, videos, specifications, and descriptions may be provided by suppliers or manufacturers. We will make reasonable efforts to verify such information before offering the product for sale.
However, customers acknowledge that:
- Product images may differ slightly from the final product due to lighting, photography, packaging updates, production batch differences, or minor design changes.
- Minor cosmetic differences that do not affect product function may not qualify as defects.
- Product specifications may be updated by the manufacturer, provided that the main product function and value are not materially reduced.
We will not knowingly misrepresent any product.
4. Pricing and Group-Buy Tiers
Some group-buys may use tiered pricing.
Where tiered pricing applies:
- The relevant price tiers will be displayed on the product page, campaign page, or order form.
- The final unlocked price will apply to all eligible customers in the same group-buy batch.
- Customers will not be charged more than the final applicable price stated for their group-buy batch.
- If the final unlocked price is lower than the initial estimated price, the difference may be deducted from the remaining balance, refunded, or converted into store credit, depending on the mechanics stated for that specific campaign.
We will not use fake scarcity, fake countdown timers, fake order numbers, or misleading pricing claims.
All prices are stated in Singapore Dollars unless otherwise indicated.
5. Deposit and Payment
To join a group-buy, customers must pay the stated deposit amount through the payment method provided by Sama Sama.
Your order is only confirmed after we have received and verified your deposit.
The deposit is used to secure your place in the group-buy and support procurement planning.
Unless otherwise stated, the deposit does not represent full payment for the product. Any remaining balance must be paid before self-collection or delivery.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that payment is made to the correct PayNow UEN, bank account, QR code, or official payment channel provided by Sama Sama.
Sama Sama will not be responsible for payments made to the wrong account due to customer error.
6. Order Confirmation
After your deposit has been received and verified, we will send you an order confirmation through email, WhatsApp, SMS, or another communication channel provided by you.
Your order confirmation may include:
- Order number
- Product ordered
- Deposit amount paid
- Estimated remaining balance
- Estimated timeline
- Collection or delivery instructions
- Referral link, where applicable
Please check your order confirmation carefully.
If there are any errors, you should inform us as soon as possible.
7. Minimum Order Threshold
Each group-buy may require a minimum number of confirmed orders before procurement proceeds.
If the minimum order threshold is met, Sama Sama may proceed with supplier confirmation, procurement, inspection, shipping, and collection or delivery arrangements.
If the minimum order threshold is not met by the closing date, the group-buy will be cancelled and customer deposits will be refunded in accordance with Section 8.
8. Refunds and Cancellation
8.1 If the Group-Buy Does Not Proceed
If the group-buy does not reach the minimum order threshold, we will refund your deposit within 10 business days from the date we confirm that the group-buy will not proceed.
8.2 If We Cancel the Group-Buy
We may cancel a group-buy if there are supplier issues, product quality concerns, inspection failures, logistics issues, legal or compliance concerns, safety concerns, or other circumstances that make it unreasonable or unsafe to proceed.
If we cancel the group-buy before procurement is completed, we will refund your deposit within 10 business days.
8.3 If You Change Your Mind
Because group-buys rely on consolidated demand and supplier commitments, deposits are generally not refundable once the group-buy has closed and procurement has started.
Before the group-buy closes, we may review cancellation requests on a case-by-case basis.
Approval of cancellation requests is at our discretion.
8.4 Delays
Estimated timelines are provided in good faith.
Timelines may be affected by production schedules, supplier delays, quality inspection, shipping, customs clearance, port congestion, weather, public holidays, or other factors outside our direct control.
If there is a material delay, we will update customers as soon as reasonably possible.
9. Self-Collection and Delivery
9.1 Self-Collection
Self-collection is free unless otherwise stated.
Customers must collect their product from the designated collection location during their assigned collection window or appointment slot.
Customers may be required to present:
- Order confirmation
- QR code
- Mobile number
- Identification details
- Payment confirmation
This is to verify the order and prevent unauthorised collection.
9.2 Paid Delivery Add-On
Delivery may be offered as a paid add-on, depending on the product, delivery location, batch size, and campaign.
Delivery fees, available delivery areas, and delivery conditions will be stated separately where applicable.
If you choose delivery, you are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
You must ensure that someone is available to receive the item during the agreed delivery window.
Additional charges may apply for failed deliveries, incorrect addresses, missed appointments, or re-delivery requests.
10. Inspection Upon Collection or Delivery
Customers should inspect the product and packaging upon collection or delivery.
Where possible, we may provide a basic inspection or test area at the collection point. This is intended to help identify obvious physical damage or dead-on-arrival issues before the customer leaves the collection point.
Once the product has been collected or delivered, the customer is responsible for using, storing, installing, cleaning, and maintaining the product in accordance with the product manual, safety instructions, and intended use.
11. Defective or Dead-on-Arrival Products
If your product is defective, damaged, or dead-on-arrival, please contact us within 7 calendar days from the date of collection or delivery.
You should provide:
- Order number
- Product model
- Photos or videos showing the issue
- Description of the issue
- Proof of collection or delivery date
Our current after-sales policy is replacement-only, subject to verification of the defect, supplier support, and replacement stock availability.
A product may not qualify for replacement if the issue is caused by:
- Misuse
- Improper installation
- Unauthorised modification
- Accidental damage
- Water damage caused by customer handling
- Failure to follow product instructions
- Use outside the product’s intended purpose
- Normal wear and tear
- Cosmetic issues that do not affect product function
12. Replacement Policy
Where a replacement is approved, we may replace the defective product or defective component with:
- The same model;
- An equivalent model; or
- A suitable replacement part.
If a replacement is not immediately available, we will inform you of the estimated replacement timeline.
If a replacement cannot reasonably be provided, Sama Sama may, at its discretion, offer an alternative resolution such as store credit, partial refund, or full refund, depending on the circumstances.
Our replacement-only policy does not cover change-of-mind requests.
13. Product Safety and Proper Use
Customers must use all products safely and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, user manual, voltage requirements, warnings, and intended purpose.
Home appliances should not be used if there are signs of:
- Burning smell
- Smoke
- Exposed wiring
- Water leakage near electrical components
- Unusual noises
- Cracked casing
- Overheating
- Any other safety concern
If you suspect a safety issue, stop using the product immediately and contact us.
14. Referral Rewards and Store Credit
We may offer referral rewards from time to time.
Unless otherwise stated:
- Referral rewards are issued as store credit.
- Store credit is only awarded when the referred customer completes a valid purchase.
- Rewards are not awarded for sign-ups only.
- Referral rewards are single-level only.
- You will not earn rewards from further referrals made by people you referred.
- Store credit is not exchangeable for cash.
- Store credit may be subject to expiry, campaign rules, or usage conditions stated at the time of issue.
We may withhold, reverse, or cancel referral rewards if we suspect fraud, abuse, fake accounts, self-referrals, duplicate accounts, or manipulation of the referral system.
15. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information when placing an order, including:
- Name
- Mobile number
- Email address
- Payment reference
- Collection details
- Delivery address, where applicable
Customers are also responsible for checking product suitability before joining a group-buy, including:
- Product dimensions
- Intended use
- Household needs
- Installation requirements
- Electrical compatibility
- Space constraints
- Any personal usage requirements
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, Sama Sama will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, including loss of profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or loss of goodwill.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
17. Personal Data
We collect, use, and disclose personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy / PDPA Notice.
By placing an order, joining a group-buy, using a referral link, or communicating with us, you acknowledge that your personal data may be collected and used for purposes including order processing, payment verification, group-buy updates, collection or delivery arrangements, after-sales support, replacement handling, referral tracking, store credit management, and related business purposes.
Marketing communications will only be sent where you have opted in, unless otherwise permitted by law.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The version that applies to your order will generally be the version published or provided at the time you placed your deposit, unless changes are required by law or are clearly beneficial to customers.
19. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
If a dispute arises, both parties agree to first try to resolve the matter in good faith through direct communication.
If the dispute cannot be resolved, either party may seek mediation, file a claim with the appropriate tribunal or court, or pursue other remedies available under Singapore law.
